OVERVIEW
Vicky H. Lin represents employers on a wide range of employment issues including claims of discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, and wrongful termination, in state court, federal court, and before administrative agencies. Ms. Lin also counsels clients on a full range of employment law issues, including employment contracts, severance agreements, personnel policies, workplace investigations, and employee discipline and termination matters. She has spent her entire legal career practicing employment and labor law.
Key representations include:
- Obtaining summary judgment and summary adjudication on cases involving claims of discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful termination, breach of contract, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
- Successfully appealing the denial of motions to compel arbitration. Two of the appeals resulted in published California appellate opinions.
- Defending and obtaining favorable settlements for employers including colleges and universities, Fortune 500 companies and healthcare organizations against claims of discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, whistle-blowing, and violations of CFRA and FMLA.
- Assisting in a twelve-day jury trial that resulted in a full defense verdict on discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, invasion of privacy, failure to pay wages, and intentional infliction of emotional distress claims.
Prior to her legal career, Ms. Lin worked in as an aide to Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren in Washington, D.C. and worked for a Member of Parliament in London.
