OVERVIEW
An experienced litigator with more than 30 years of experience, Lester specializes in the representation of employers in all aspects of employment law, including harassment and discrimination litigation (such as sex, disability, age, race, national origin, religion and sexual orientation), wrongful discharge, and whistleblower litigation in state and federal courts, arbitration and before administrative agencies.
He has represented employers of all sizes and endeavors, including several Fortune 500 companies, private universities, and large retailers. Throughout his career, he has endeavored to create high quality work through meticulous preparation and innovative thinking. His research, writing and oral skills have allowed him to create and present arguments that have proved persuasive in numerous cases he has won for his clients on summary judgment or helped settle for reasonable amounts through mediation. Through the prism of litigation and his extensive experience in employment law, he is able to advise clients on employment issues to ensure their compliance with relevant laws and position them, if litigation still ensues, to defend themselves effectively.
Before joining the Firm, Mr. Aponte was associated with two prominent national labor and employment firms. Mr. Aponte is the Co-Chair of the LGBTQ Caucus of the California Democratic Party and has served on the boards of the Hispanic National Bar Association and the LGBTQ+ Lawyers Association of Los Angeles.
