OVERVIEW
Ms. Pazzani is among a select group of attorneys who focus on representing colleges and universities in Title IX matters, including representing clients in administrative mandamus actions. She also regularly advises colleges and universities on best practices for their internal disciplinary proceedings.

In addition to her Title IX work, Ms. Pazzani represents and counsels employers in a broad range of employment law matters, including defending employers against claims of discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, and other employment-related claims in state and federal court and before administrative agencies.

Key representations include:

  • In Boermeester v. Carry (2023), Ms. Pazzani was part of the legal team that persuaded the California Supreme Court to find that private universities are not required to allow live cross-examination of parties and witnesses in student disciplinary proceedings involving sexual assault or intimate partner violence. 
  • Successfully defending against administrative mandamus actions filed by students and faculty challenging the results of disciplinary proceedings.
  • Successfully defending against administrative mandamus actions filed by faculty denied tenure.
  • Representing clients in appeals related to administrative mandamus actions.
  • Obtaining summary judgment and summary adjudication in cases involving claims of discrimination, wrongful termination, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and failure to accommodate.
  • Negotiating favorable settlements for clients in employment and Title IX matters.


Ms. Pazzani is an active member of the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles and served as a member of the Board of Governors and the Co-Chair of the Business Law Section from 2020-2023.  She has repeatedly been named a Southern California Super Lawyer in the field of defense-side employment litigation.
