Attorney Tara M. Swartz

Tara M. Swartz represents employees and students in all phases of litigation, including trials, administrative proceedings, alternative dispute resolution, and appeals. Ms. Swartz’s practice concentrates on claims arising in the workplace and at educational institutions. Her employment practice includes a wide range of cases, such as discrimination and retaliation, sexual harassment, violations of the Family and Medical Leave Act and other state and federal statutory actions, and employment contract and tort claims. She is well versed in state and federal civil service and the federal EEO processes.
In the education context, Ms. Swartz concentrates on claims of discrimination and in
particular works with students and institutions to develop and implement reasonable accommodation plans. She also represents college coaches and administrators who experience adverse job actions for reporting violations of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules or assisting in infraction investigations.
Ms. Swartz was selected as a Super Lawyer Rising Star in 2007, 2008, and 2009. She is a member of the Massachusetts, Boston and Women's Bar Associations, and the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Employment Law Association.
Ms. Swartz is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (BA, BS ‘98), where she was a full-scholarship athlete on the Women's Gymnastics Team, and Northeastern University School of Law (JD ‘01).
